In Septmeber of 2006, for the
first time, a new Medic One
Unit came to Des Moines at
Fire Station 26.

On May 29, 2007 the King
County EMS/Medic One
Advisory Committee released a
summary of findings concluding
that the Medic One 13 (half
time 12 hrs) unit was
functioning better than
expected. The workload for the
first 6 months of operation
was 476 calls. The projected
workload was for 751 calls for
a year. The new full year
projection will be for 952 calls.

Most new Medic One units
start out on a half time basis
and are closely monitored to
see how the unit(s) can be
better utilized throughout the
King County.
