DMPD officers Eddie Ochart and Bob Crane, members of NAMOA (North American
Motor Officers Assoc.) recently attended the annual training conference. They are
assigned to the department traffic unit, using Harley-Davidson Motorcycles. The
three day conference is held in different states each year. This year it was held in
Kennewick, Washington, with jurisdictions from Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia and
Alberta. Over 160 officers participated in many proficiency courses throughout the
weekend.
Officer Bob Crane, right, commented," although
the sessions are timed, it is more about using
your skills. Training also includes traffic stops
where we get into high risk type of stops using
sims guns."
This year as in previous years, the dynamic
duo scored very well in these events. At the
conclusion of the session, Ochart placed
second in the barrel race and Crane placed
third in the slow race. Congrats guys.
