A remarkable event took place this past
Saturday, August 4th in the little community
of Des Moines known as Pacific Ridge.

Since last September the neighborhood
residents have met monthly in an effort to
better their small part of the city. In an
effort to show community solidarity at
taking back their streets, they orginazied
and held their first annual Block Party on
30th Ave. South.

Tonya Seaberry, DM Police CSO has been the
cheerleader in helping the residents come
together for the common good. She
commented "these people have heart, they
worked hard at cleaning up the streets and
putting on this party."

With the help of the PD, city crews, police
volunteers and South King Fire, everyone
attended agreed that is was an outstanding
success and the residents should be
congradulated on a "Job Well Done"
